Car Rental Terms
Reservations: Reservations are made according to the vehicle category and not for a specific model. In case of lack of availability of the specific model then and if the lease has been fulfilled, Active Rent a Car & Scooter provides the customer with a larger category vehicle at no charge to the customer.
Driver age: Minimum age 23 years for cars in categories: A, A1, B, C, C1, D, D1 and 25 years old for categories E, F, F1. Maximum age is 75 years old.
Driving license: The driver must have a European or international driving license and be valid at least 1 year before the rental date.
Guarantee: For categories A, A1, B, C, C1, D, D1, the tenant will have to pay a guarantee of 250 euros in cash, which will be refunded upon delivery of the car or credit card. For categories E, E1, F, K, rental is possible only with a credit card for guarantee.
Payment methods: The rent is prepaid. The tenant is required to provide a credit card to guarantee the rental even if the payment is made in cash. Active accepts VISA, Mastercard or Maestro credit cards or deposit in a bank account.
Rental duration: Minimum rental period one day (24 hours). Delay of more than 1 hour is charged extra day rental.
Insurance policy: All vehicle renters are insured against third party liability for death, injury & property damage. They also have mixed liability insurance (CDW). 750 € + VAT Mirrors, windows, tires, wheels and damage to the underside of the car are not covered by (CDW).
SCDW Insurance
By paying an additional amount of € 8 per day the tenant has the opportunity to reduce the amount of his responsibility (exemption) to € 120 + VAT. The above insurance is optional and you can request it before the start of the rental. Mirrors, glass, tires, wheels and damage to the underside of the car are not covered by (SCDW).
FCDW Insurance
By paying an additional amount of € 15 per day the amount of liability is reduced to € 30. FCDW covers: mirrors, windows, tires, wheels, and undercarriage damage. The above insurance is optional and you can request it before the start of the rental.
Insurance does not cover damages:
When the driver causes an accident under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
If the driver of the vehicle is not authorized as a driver in the rental contract
If the car is illegally parked.
Damage to the vehicle or to third parties while driving on unpaved roads.
If the tenant does not take all necessary precautions to securely park and lock the car.
Loss or damage of personal belongings.
Damage or stains inside the car are charged depending on the damage.
Loss or destruction of a key: In case of loss or destruction of a key during the lease, the tenant will have to pay from € 200 to € 400 depending on the vehicle category.
Fuel: The tenant must return the car with the same amount of fuel he received. In case of return of the car with a smaller amount of fuel than the original (ie the amount of fuel that the customer received the vehicle) the customer is charged with the difference in fuel. No compensation is provided to the customer if the car is returned with more fuel than received.
Cancellations
For cancellations 1 week before delivery there is a charge of 2 days rental.
For cancellations in the last week there is a charge of 1 day rental.
For last minute cancellations (non - show) charge the full amount of the deposit.
Navigation system (GPS): It is available upon request with an extra charge of € 5 per day.
Child seat: Active rent a car & scooter is a family business and follows a friendly policy for our little friends, so we offer you the 1st child seat for free, if you need a 2nd there is a charge of 2 € per day. Child seats are subject to availability.
Calls - Fines: Fines and administrative penalties resulting from a breach of the KOK during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the tenant.
Taxes: All prices and charges listed are charged with 24% VAT and city tax 0.5% on the rental price.
